Founding Fullstack Engineer

You own the product end to end: the interface our customers live in every day, the backend and data model behind it, and the platform it all runs on. Not a ticket-taker, a founding engineer who decides what gets built and then builds it.

The Loonar team working together in the office

Where we are today

  • 40+ companies in late-stage pipeline
  • 21 B2B mid-market industrial manufacturers are already customers, 4 of them part of very large multinational industrial groups
  • Fully bootstrapped and financed by revenue and cash flow

Comp is salary plus equity. We want you to own a real piece of what we are building together, so the package is tailored to your skills, your risk profile and what you actually need.

Who we are looking for

In short: someone who will ideate, own and build the product and the platform underneath it. Front-end, back-end, data model, infrastructure, deployment, and the product decisions that come before any of it.

Our customers run multi-million euro bids through Loonar every day, and every one of them needs the platform bent to their own context. That means the work is equal parts product thinking and serious engineering: clean abstractions that let us onboard a new manufacturer in days instead of months, a backend that holds up when a customer drops 300 pages of technical specification on it, and an interface a sales engineer can learn in one sitting.

We are not only looking for someone who can execute. We want someone who brings technical leadership, has strong opinions about how the product should work, and gets other people excited to build with them.

This is for you if you have been building product for as long as you can remember and now you want to build AND sell, or if you want to break out of big tech and become an entrepreneur with us.

Our core values

We care.
We care for each other, we care for ourselves, we care for our families and dear ones, we care for our customers and we care about what we do.
We are serious but we do not take ourselves too seriously.
We are in business to do things that matter and we take this seriously, but we understand what real problems are in life so every once in a while we do not take ourselves too seriously.
We challenge.
We challenge ourselves, each other and the status quo. We aim at sparking genuine and respectful discussions that add value to the conversation to enrich one another.
We are all about distribution.
We will never do anything if we first don't understand whether someone is willing to pay for it and how we can get to these people.
We are balanced.
We work very hard, and we believe there's no work-life balance, there's only life.
We are here for the long-term.
We are just at the beginning of something very big and long-lasting.

Must haves

  • Real software development experience, front-end and back-end. We don't care about your degree, we care about what you have shipped and kept running.
  • You can design and own a backend: data model, APIs, background jobs, the things that break at 2am and the reasons they don't break twice.
  • Platform and infrastructure are not someone else's problem. Cloud deployment, CI, environments, observability: you set them up because you want them, not because you were told to.
  • Taste for design and UX. You have opinions about how the interface should feel and you can build it yourself.
  • You live and breathe AI coding agents and use them to move faster than a team twice your size.
  • Business understanding: you build products because they are useful to someone and have measurable impact, not for the sake of building.
  • You do not only execute. You help set the product vision and own it end to end: UX, front-end, back-end, data, deployment and everything in between.
  • You tell us what else you bring to the table that we absolutely need.

What makes you a great fit

  • You want to build a gigantic company with us, over time
  • You care about yourself and your wellbeing
  • You take full ownership of projects
  • You get excited about complex problems
  • You are a technical thought leader
  • You want to work with all the latest tools out there and you are comfortable building on top of LLMs when they are the right answer

You may not make a good fit if

  • You only want to execute
  • You need someone to tell you what to do or how to do things
  • You want to stay in one layer of the stack

About the product

Loonar is the AI platform for technical commercial teams in industrial companies.

Our customers are industrial manufacturers that sell components (valves, pumps, HVAC systems, transformers) for critical industrial infrastructure (energy plants, nuclear facilities, data centers).

At its core, Loonar helps our customers answer three questions:

  • What does my customer want?
  • What can I offer to them?
  • What can I not offer to them?

They're already using Loonar daily to process critical requests for quotation on large, multi-million euro projects. Loonar is a platform that needs to be customized with tailored context to match the needs of each customer.
